Louisville Baseball L-ScreenLouisville Baseball L-Screen

For a limited time, you can take $10 off the sticker price of a Louisville Slugger baseball L-Screen or Socknet.

The baseball L-Screen is a must-have for any baseball practice, from the bigs down to Little League. The screen can be used to protect pitchers and fielders during batting practice, and it can be used for fielding drills.

Take it inside to use the screen for cage work. Use it in any situation a coach or teammate might be in close quarters with a batter.

Louisville’s L-Screen is made with durable 1.5-inch powder coated 18-gauge steel tubing with heavy-duty knotted nylon pillowcase net. It sets up in 3-5 minutes. Get it for $99.99 at Baseball Express.

The baseball socknet is another important weapon in the practice arsenal.

Snap it together to use as a backstop, or use it for training drills. The 18-gauge steel and heavy duty nylon netting make it a sturdy practice aid that fits great in backyards, parks or other areas that a mishit baseball could be costly.

Get it for $99.99 at Baseball Express.

Get the lightest swing weight on the market with Louisville’s new 2012 Vertex -3 Adult Baseball Bat

September 23, 2011

Louisville 2012 Exclusive Vertex -3 Adult Baseball Bat

The engineers at Louisville Slugger pulled out all the stops in designing this year’s 2012 Vertex -3 Adult Baseball Bat (which is exclusive to Baseball Express, by the way.)

They set out to design a baseball bat with the ultimate in energy-transferring stiffness and the lightest swing weight on the market. That involved constructing the handle and taper with ultra-stiff LS-2X composite, seamlessly bonded to a rock-solid AC21 alloy barrel.

The LS-2X handle provides the lowest M.O.I. on the market, giving it the lightest swing weight out there. The AC21 alloy barrel provides the most pop and biggest sweet spot.

Get it for $279.99, only at Baseball Express.

Some baseball humor for your Friday

September 11, 2009

Happy Friday, everyone. Here’s some humor to take you into the weekend:

Two 90-year-olds, Jerry and Buck, had been friends all of their lives.

When it was clear that Jerry was dying, Buck visited him every day. One day Buck said, “Jerry, we both loved playing baseball all our lives, and we played all through high school. Please do me one favor: when you get to Heaven, somehow you must let me know if there’s baseball there.”

Jerry looked up at Buck from his death bed and said, “Buck, you’ve been my best friend for many years. If it’s at all possible, I’ll do this favor for you.”

Shortly after that, Jerry passed on.

At midnight the following Friday, Buck was awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and a voice calling out to him, “Buck, Buck…”‘

“Who is it?” asked Buck, sitting up suddenly. “Who is it?”

“Buck — it’s me, Jerry”

“You’re not Jerry. Jerry just died.”

“I’m telling you, it’s me, Jerry,” insisted the voice.

“Jerry! Where are you?”

“In Heaven,” replied Jerry. “I have some really good news and a little bad news.”

“Tell me the good news first,” said Buck.

“The good news,” Jerry said, “is that there’s baseball in Heaven. Better yet, all of our old buddies who died before us are here, too. Better than that, we’re all young again. Better still, it’s always springtime, and it never rains or snows. And best of all, we can play baseball all we want, and we never get tired.”

“That’s fantastic,” said Buck. “It’s beyond my wildest dreams! So what’s the bad news?”

“You’re pitching Tuesday.”
