Thursday Trivia: What is Andre Dawson’s nickname?

Just one player was voted into Cooperstown this year.

Andre Dawson, who spent the majority of his 21-year career with the Montreal Expos and Chicago Cubs, was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven came close, but they didn’t receive enough votes for entry.

The power-hitting outfielder finished his career with 438 home runs and 1,591 RBIs.

He received 420 of the 539 ballots, which pushed him above the 75% vote required to make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was his ninth year of eligibility.
