Baton Rouge, La. – Jack Marucci of The Marucci Company today released the following statement congratulating the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies and the American League Champion New York Yankees in honor of their trip to the 2009 World Series:
“Congratulations to the Yankees and the Phillies. This will be a historic World Series, as we all watch the Yankees trying to capture their 27th championship and the Phillies vying to repeat,” said Marucci. “We are proud of the players on both teams and excited that so many have chosen Marucci, the best bat in baseball.”
Several players from each team have used Marucci this year, including the NLCS MVP Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jason Worth, Raul Ibanez, Shane Victorino, Pedro Feliz, Greg Dobbs, Miguel Cairo, Eric Bruntlett, and John Mayberry for the Phillies, and Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Jorge Posada, Melky Cabrera, Nick Swisher, Jose Molina, and Jerry Hairston Jr. for the Yankees.
Marucci, located in Baton Rouge, started handcrafting wood bats in 2003 for a handful of players in baseball. In 2009, nearly 300 MLB players including 14 All-Stars and reigning National League MVP Albert Pujols swung Marucci bats.
Each Marucci bat is hand crafted and inspected ensuring that every bat uses the best wood and is game ready.
